Water
AquaFiber is a biotechnology company that has developed an environmentally
friendly series of systematic methods to remove organics, heavy metals and
other toxic or undesirable materials from water. Better still, the primary
means to clean the water, custom grown periphyton algae, can be harvested and
reused in many different ways ranging from soil amendment to textiles.
We have more than 20 patents or patents pending on our water remediation processes.
Our working facility is on the shore of Lake Apopka—one of Florida’s
most polluted water bodies. The source water of the lake is hypereutrophic, an
anomalous combination of excessive phosphorous and low-density particulate matter.
In prior years, Lake Apopka was a repository for pesticides, DDT and more.
Still, our technology has produced potable water from Lake Apopka. An independent
laboratory has verified these results.
Cleans water. Leaves no toxic or undesirable residuals. Doesn’t require
dredging, cutting or other invasive equipment. Harvested product can be used
in other environmentally enhancing ways. There just isn’t anything like
it available to restore our lakes and ponds to a swimable, fishable quality at
an affordable cost, in our lifetime.
