Our Board of Directors

G. Thomas Bland, Jr., serves as Chairman of the Board, CEO and president of AquaFiber Technologies Corporation. With more than 30 years of business experience, Mr. Bland maintains expertise in the areas of management, finance, accounting and economics.

Mr. Bland received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida (UCF). Later, he earned his Master’s in Business Administration from the same institution. In 2004, Mr. Bland was inducted into the UCF College of Business Administration Hall of Fame. He currently is a member of the UCF College of Business Administration’s Dean’s Executive Council, and serves as a board member for the Florida Hospital Diabetes Foundation. He also established a home healthcare business, TenderCare Professional Assisted Living Services, Inc., for which he concurrently serves as Chairman of the Board. 

Kenneth C. Wright, a Transactions Attorney and Partner in a national legal firm, is currently AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has been a Board Member since 2000.

Mr. Wright received his Bachelors degree from Cameron University and his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He has Bar Admissions in Texas, Florida and Oklahoma, and is a business attorney with experience in securities, finance and transactional matters. Mr. Wright has served as lead counsel in many complex and substantial acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, financings, reorganizations and restructurings.

Mr. Wright’s practice includes public and private entities in the United States and in foreign jurisdictions. He has represented clients in the areas of banking and financing services; communications; energy; real estate; rubber distribution; insurance; manufacturing; healthcare; and resort, time-share and golf course development. He is listed as a Municipal Bond Attorney in The Directory of Municipal Bond Dealers of the United States, published annually by The Bond Buyer.

Kyle R. Jensen is Co-founder of the AquaFiber Technologies Corporation, where he now serves as Executive Vice President and Director.

After working as a licensed architect for Jacob’s Engineering, Mr. Jensen served as President of Bio Environmental, Inc., where he and his staff were contracted with the Smithsonian Institute’s Marine Systems Laboratory. Here, Mr. Jensen designed and patented several processes that are at the core of AquaFiber Technologies Corporation. In 2000, Mr. Jensen assisted in the scientific formation of AquaFiber.

Mr. Jensen received his Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design from the University of Illinois – Chicago. 

William W. Fagan has been a member of the AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Board of Directors and an AquaFiber Consultant since 2003. Mr. Fagan is currently AquaFiber’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President. He is also a Certified General Contractor and a Licensed Florida Real Estate Broker. Mr. Fagan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1971 and his Master of Business Administration in 1973, both from the University of Florida.

Over the past 25 years, Mr. Fagan was the  Owner and President of W.W. Fagan & Co. Inc., a general contracting firm that specializes in commercial construction, value engineering, design build and tenant build-out. Mr. Fagan is also the Vice President/Owner of Ustler/Fagan Inc., a real estate and development company specializing in build-to-suit commercial projects for national and regional tenants. He is currently an active Board Member for Cinedraft Inc., a Central Florida development company, and a member of the Executive Committee and of the Board of Directors for the Central Florida Fair.

Richard “Dick” A. Nunis serves on the Board of Directors for AquaFiber Technologies Corporation. He is also a member of the Board’s Executive Committee, as well as a special consultant to the CEO. Before joining the Board for AquaFiber, Mr. Nunis spent 44 years with the Walt Disney Company, where he retired in 1999 as Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. After his retirement, Mr. Nunis opened a consulting company, New Business Solutions, Inc.

In addition to his successful business career, Mr. Nunis has demonstrated his support of community affairs, youth, education and the free enterprise system through his association with various boards and organizations. These include Progress Energy and Give Kids the World, a non-profit organization for terminally ill children. 

Mr. Nunis received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Southern California in 1952. In 1996, he received an honorary degree, Doctor of Public Service, from the University of Central Florida. 

Thomas H. Yochum has been on AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Board of Directors since 2004.  Currently, Mr. Yochum is Director of Community Services and Business Strategy with the law firm of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, and the Chairman of the Board of Seaside National Bank & Trust, which is headquartered in Orlando. Mr. Yochum is also the retired Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of SunTrust Bank, Central Florida. In total, Mr. Yochum has more than 38 years of experience in the financial services industry, including his work with SunTrust, Barnett Bank and Florida National Bank. 

Mr. Yochum earned his bachelor's degree in business from Rollins College in 1974, and he is active in many professional and civic organizations. He has raised more than $100 million for non-profit causes. Mr. Yochum serves on the University of Central Florida Foundation Board of Directors, and is a board member of the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation and Florida Hospital. He is also a recipient of the James B. Greene Award in recognition of his work for economic development in the Central Florida market.

Past organizational chairmanships and memberships include the Valencia Community College Foundation, the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Overseers, Heart of Florida United Way and the American Cancer Society. Mr. Yochum is a member of the Florida Bankers Association, the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, UCP Foundation Board and is an alumnus of Leadership Florida.

James B. Madison, M.D., has been a member of AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Board of Directors since 2004. Dr. Madison attended the University of Miami for undergraduate studies and Tulane University’s Medical School in New Orleans. He interned and served a general surgical residency that was followed by three years of orthopedic specialty training at the Variety Children’s Hospital in Coral Gables, Fla. Dr. Madison has attended numerous post-graduate training courses and seminars, and was a faculty member at several medical schools. Additionally, Dr. Madison was an Administrative and Medical Director of Project Hope in South America in 1964 and 1965. He came to practice medicine in the Winter Park area in 1965.

Dr. Madison is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics; and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and numerous professional and civic organizations. He has served as President of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, is past President of the Medical Staff at Winter Park Memorial Hospital, where he also served as a past Trustee. Dr. Madison is also a member of the Florida Hospital South and Florida Hospital East Medical Staffs. Additionally, Dr. Madison has served on the Winter Park Lakes and Waterways Board since 1985.

Mary Olson is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in Speech Pathology. She has served on AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Board of Directors since 2000. Ms. Olson was the first investor in AquaFiber and the first outside Board Member.

Prior to joining AquaFiber’s Board, Ms. Olson was an Orange County Public Schools Speech Pathologist, as well as an officer for many Parent Teacher Associations. She has been a member of the Dow Jones Investment Club for the past 40 years, and has served as President and Treasurer during that time. Ms. Olson is the Beta Lambda House Corporation Treasurer at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and is very active in events and activities that take place with the UCF Tri Delta Sorority. For the past 30 she has been involved with Olson’s Investments, which deals with private investment portfolios and real-estate transactions.

Dr. Martin “Marty” Wanielista is a civil engineer who serves on the Board of Directors for AquaFiber Technologies Corporation. His extensive research in stormwater management, hydrology and groundwater pollution control allows him to contribute immensely to the development of AquaFiber.

As a Professor Emeritus of Engineering at the University of Central Florida (UCF), Dr. Wanielista has been a respected member of the faculty since 1970. In 2007, UCF recognized Dr. Wanielista as a Pegasus Professor, the highest honor awarded to faculty at the university, for his work as the founder and director of the Stormwater Management Academy. 

Dr. Wanielista holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Detroit, as well as a Master’s degree in Sanitary Engineering from Manhattan College. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. He has published over 200 reports and has received over $10 million in research funding. 

Robert F. Stonerock Jr., M.D., is a native of Orlando who is a member of the AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Board of Directors. Dr. Stonerock is a nephrologist (kidney specialist) and hyperbaric medicine specialist. He practiced medicine in Orlando for 21 years, and was a partner in his multi-specialty medical practice. He was also the Medical Director of two hospitals’ intensive care units and two kidney dialysis centers before retiring in 1999. Dr. Stonerock received his Bachelor of Science in pre-medicine at Rollins College, his Medical Degree at Vanderbilt University and his post-graduate training in Charleston, S.C., at the Medical University.

Upon retirement, Dr. Stonerock became a renewable energy specialist, and joined the AquaFiber Board in 2000. He is an active member of many other companies and boards. He is Vice President of Eco-Store Inc.; Co-founder and Vice President of the Board of Directors of non-profit Eco-Action; Secretary/Treasurer of Clean Power Engineering Company; President of the Florida Chapter of the American Hydrogen Association; President of the Messiah Choral Society; and a Board Member for the Good Health Network Incorporated and the American Medical Network Incorporated.

William (Bill) Habermeyer, a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral with 28 years of service, joined AquaFiber Technologies Corporation’s Board of Directors in 2006. Prior to joining AquaFiber’s Board, Mr. Habermeyer was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Florida Progress Energy, retiring from this position in 2006. Before assuming the CEO position, Mr. Habermeyer was Vice President of Nuclear Services and Environmental Support, Vice President of Nuclear Engineering and Vice President of the Western Region in North Carolina at Florida Progress Energy.

Mr. Habermeyer serves on a variety of community boards, including the Tampa Bay Partnership, Enterprise Florida Inc., the Pinellas Education Foundation, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Suncoast Boys and Girls Clubs, the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg, Eckerd College, the Council for Educational Change, the Salvador Dali Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts–St. Petersburg. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Raymond James Financial, and formerly served on the board of the Florida Council on Economic Education.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Mr. Habermeyer has a Master’s degree in Pubic Administration from George Washington University.

Dr. Thomas L. Keon serves on the Board of Directors for AquaFiber Technologies Corporation. He has also been the dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida (UCF) for more than eight years. 

During his tenure at UCF, the College of Business Administration has grown in size and support. However, Dr. Keon is most proud of raising over $34 million in endowments to the college. His administrative positions began at the University of Missouri, where he served as Department Chair and Associate Dean. He was also the Associate Dean at Florida Atlantic University and Dean at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. 

Dr. Keon received his Ph.D in Management from Michigan State University. Prior to this, he attended Bentley College (BSA.), Suffolk University (M.Ed.) and Babson College (MBA). His research has appeared in Human Relations, Organizational Behavior and Human Performance, Organization Studies, Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Business Ethics. 

Doug Tibbetts, a Board Member for AquaFiber Technologies Corporation since 2006, currently owns and manages Paradise Properties L.C., a Florida-based real estate investment/development company that focuses on residential, office and retail properties in Southwest Florida. He is also a restaurateur and an owner of a NASCAR racing team.

Mr. Tibbetts previously was Vice Chairman of Lend Lease Estate Investments, Inc. He was appointed Vice Chairman in January 1998, after serving as President and Chief Operating Officer of Lend Lease, which was previously Equitable Real Estate (ERE), the nation’s largest and most diversified real-estate company.

Mr. Tibbetts has served on a variety of outside boards and advisory committees, including the National Realty Committee, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, Texas Commerce Bank, Medical City Dallas, Chicago Title, CREW and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks. Mr. Tibbetts has lectured on real-estate issues at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and has served as a member of Robert A. Tiogo Foundation’s Mentor Program at Clark Atlanta University. 

Dr. M.J. Soileau serves on the Board of Directors for AquaFiber Technologies Corporation. The leadership and research skills he has gained throughout his career are an asset to AquaFiber.

Since 1987, Dr. Soileau has been a distinguished member of the faculty at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Currently, Dr. Soileau is the Vice President of Research and a professor of optics, ECE and physics. Prior to this, he was the director of the School of Optics for 12 years.

Dr. Soileau holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy and Physics from Louisiana State University, as well as a Master’s degree in Physics and Optics from the University of Utah. He later earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Quantum Electronics at the University of Southern California. Dr. Soileau serves on a number of boards, including the UCF Research Foundation, OptiGate, Florida Photonics Cluster, Space Coast Economic Development Commission and the Florida Research Consortium.
